Dr. Lori Lioce earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Samford University and a certificate in Healthcare Simulation Education at Bryan College of Health Sciences. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, certified substance abuse provider, an internationally Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator-Advanced and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Operation Specialist. She currently serves as a Clinical Professor and the Executive Director of the Learning and Technology Resource Center at The University of Alabama in Huntsville's College of Nursing. Lori has over 30 years of highly-engaged service to the healthcare professions and has received 25 honors and awards. She has sustained scholarly contributions with over 50 international presentations and 48 publications on healthcare simulation which have been used to advanced healthcare simulation education globally through her seminal, enduring, and collaborative work setting international best practice standards for simulation-based education (SBE), as well as, standardizing terminology used by simulationists. She specializes in simulation operations, curriculum development and implementation, strategic planning, faculty development, simulation design, and programmatic quality improvement. Lori serves on the SimGHOSTS Board of Directors, on the Huntsville Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees, Not One More Alabama, Inc board member, is the Editor for the Healthcare Simulation Dictionary for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and was appointed to the National Organization for Nurse Practitioner Faculties Simulation Committee. Dr. Lioce is a healthcare simulation education consultant and a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
